I first met Alycia at Shane & Joey’s wedding weekend in Seattle this past summer. You see, Shane & Alycia are now soon-to-be sisters-in-law because Shane is Andy’s brother! Got it? 🙂 Good. So…let’s get to the fun stuff. Alycia and I had talked about her options for photography if they decided to have a winter wedding in the Pacific Northwest. Assuming the weather could have been pretty gloomy in February, I gave her ideas like cute rain boots, umbrellas, etc. All of which would have been super festive, but we decided to use those ideas for the engagement session instead. Alycia & Andy have decided on a summer wedding in Lake Tahoe, which I couldn’t be more excited for! We also got the best of both worlds when we scheduled their engagement session in Portland, which is where they live and wouldn’t you know, it didn’t even rain on us. We started in their neighborhood in Southeast Portland, then went towards Downtown Portland and the waterfront. Our final destination was a fun one. Alycia went to high school with the guys who own Base Camp Brewing Company, so we decided to check it out and they even let us up on the roof! Thank you Andy & Alycia for such a fun day…I’ll never forget those fried pig ears!!

I think you all know by now that I was born and raised in Oregon and LOVE visiting whenever I get the chance. And being able to combine a trip home with a fun session like this? It couldn’t make me happier and I hope to shoot more in the Northwest very soon! xoxo

One of the biggest compliments I receive as a photographer is for a couple to book their wedding without meeting face to face. They’ve seen my work, heard about me from friends and that’s all they needed to know. Jasmine & Michael are one of these couples and I’m so thankful that we get to work together. These two are so sweet. It took them a little time to get comfortable in front of my camera, but boy did they warm up quick! So easy to photograph. Their June wedding will be amazing! Can’t wait!

Engaged couples are pretty high on my list of favorite people to take photos of. They are always so happy, so in love and make my job so easy. This was definitely the case with Felicia and Joel. I met these two at church and they have such a great love story. It all began when Joel worked at a car dealership with Felicia’s mom. Felicia came into the dealership one day and after he saw her, Joel told Felicia’s mom that he was going to marry Felicia someday. Jokingly, of course, but it turned out that he was right! He had to wait a few years to ask her out, but she said yes and the rest is history. Though I won’t be a part of their wedding day in April, I’m thrilled that I got the chance to spend time with them and share their love with you!

Happy Labor Day everyone!! I know the long weekend is almost over (sad face), but I think these photos will turn that frown upside down…I know they did mine. I had such a fun evening with Meggan & Ryan! It was my first time hanging out with both of them so they were a little nervous as we began our session. But as you will see, it didn’t take long for them to get comfortable with the camera and each other. It’s almost like I wasn’t even there at the end! Talk about SEXY! yowza! One of my favorites.

It all began for us back in December 2010. That’s when I first spoke to Izzy on the phone about her July 2012 wedding to the love of her life, Jeremy. Once we finally met last summer, I got to see a glimpse of the vision for their wedding day and the excitement that was to come. You see, Izzy grew up in Southern California, but now lives and works in the Boston area. This is where she met Jeremy…in her freshman year at Northeastern University. With the SoCal wedding, they decided to have their engagement photos in the area where they met, fell in love and will live happily ever after! I couldn’t have been more excited to visit Boston again and spend a few short days with them. And of course, we HAD to go to a Red Sox game first! 🙂 That’s where our session started (Fenway!) and then we spent the rest of the weekend taking photos all around Boston…their alma mater, North End, Quincy Market… Enjoy!

After the Red Sox game and then on to Yawkey Way…if you are a fan of baseball history, you can’t get any better than Fenway!

Next stop, Northeastern University where these two first met…

I love Maui. I love weddings. I love being a match maker. I love Melissa and Brandon. What do these things all have in common (besides that I love them all)? Brandon and Melissa will be getting married in Maui this summer and I just so happen to get to photograph it! AND this is the first time I actually get to say that I introduced a couple who eventually got married! You see, Melissa has been a close friend of mine for many years…pretty much ever since I moved to San Diego. She is one of the sweetest, kindest, spunkiest (yep, it’s a word), prettiest and lovely girls I know. So that tells you I won’t introduce her to just ANYONE. She deserves the best. A man who will be by her side through anything and will love her to the moon and back. Brandon is just that person. I met Brandon a few years ago while working at Upper Deck. As I got to know him better, I knew that he was one of the nicest guys I’d ever met and would be a good match for my friend, Mel. Just about four years ago, as the Padres season was just underway, Brandon invited me and another co-worker/friend, Gabriel, to a game. There was one extra ticket and I decided to invite Melissa. You see where this is going, right? Well I have to say they hit it off right away, he asked for her number and they never looked back. I’m so happy for my dear friends and very much looking forward to their big day in MAUI!!!!

Since this is where they first met, it was only fitting to shoot their engagement photos inside Petco Park! Luckily Brandon has some connections with the Padres (THANKS NICK!) and received full access to the empty ballpark. It’s not something that happens everyday, so we took full advantage and had a fabulous time!

I’m just going to say it. These two are my favorite. I loved everything about them, their love and this session.
