I wouldn’t call newborn photography “easy”. It definitely takes patience, skill, patience, flexibility (not the physical kind) and patience. My clients often tell me I have a lot of patience. And some colleagues who don’t photograph newborns say, “I don’t see how you do it?!”. Well, I don’t really have an answer, except for the fact that it’s what I’ve always done in my photography career. My first subject wasn’t necessarily a newborn (he was two months old), but that’s where it all started…friends having kids…and more kids…and more kids. 🙂  And I wouldn’t change a thing about it. You’ve heard me say it before, but I absolutely LOVE it when friends refer friends who refer friends to have me photograph some of the most wonderful (and exhausting) moments in their life. The trust they have in me means more than they’ll ever know. It gives me so much JOY to be able to share in these times and capture them as their family grows.

This was no different when Julie and Kevin asked me to photograph their precious baby girl, Cybil. At just six days old, she was a DREAM to photograph. We had a slow start with some feeding and changing breaks (which is completely normal), but once she was settled, Cybil slept the whole rest of our session! 🙂 Here are some of my favorites… I hope you ENJOY!

Check out her nursery…isn’t is amazing?! Julie did such a fabulous job decorating and the natural light was a savior! 😉

My favorite… and that chandelier with that table??? Perfect!!

These two are going to be the best parents ever. 🙂
