When you combine shooting a wedding with traveling to one of your favorite places and are accompanied by dear friends, it makes for a dream weekend. My loves of travel, the Northwest and photography were all present at Shane & Joey’s wedding this past August. Shane and I go way back to our college days at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA. From there we’ve been roommates in San Diego and traveled to far off places such as New York and France. We share loves of travel and sports…in particular, March Madness. She’s my go-to girl for reminiscing during “One Shining Moment” and even shared my obsession admiration of the Oregon Ducks Joey Harrington many moons ago. Should I get started on her infatuation with N*Sync?? Okay, maybe I’ll leave that one out. Of all the memories we’ve shared, the last few years are the ones I’m most excited about and the ones that culminated into the day she became Mrs. Miramontez.

Joey is the perfect match for Shane and their wedding weekend was nothing short of incredible. They brought in all of their closest family and friends to a location that can easily be described as “summer camp for adults”. IslandWood is an outdoor education center nestled in a woodsy forest on Bainbridge Island, which is just across the Sound from Downtown Seattle. We all stayed in cabins for the weekend and were spoiled with ridiculously amazing food, gorgeous sunny weather and good friends all around. And it was all for Shane & Joey who wouldn’t have had it any other way. I know it meant SO much to them to have all the important people in their lives be there and I am so thankful that I got to be a part of it as well.

I also need to give a big shout out to Sean Thompson who was my 2nd shooter for the day. I had reached out to him via Twitter in the months before the wedding and finally met him as soon as I arrived in Seattle. Turns out that he is a part of the Big Deal Branding team that I had JUST signed on with to help me with my super duper re-brand and new website. Small world, right?? Sean – thank you for shooting with me and hopefully we can team up again soon!!

Okay, enough of my rambling…let’s get to the good stuff!
