jasmine + michael = married! {san diego, ca}

As you’ll be able to see from the photos below, it was a GORGEOUS day for Jasmine & Michael’s wedding by the bay! I was honored to be a part of such a special day in their lives. You’ve seen this beautiful couple once before on the blog for their engagement session. These two are so sweet and love each other so much. Both families danced and partied till late into the evening and it was so much fun for us to document. Take a peek below at their big day…

the burkett family {positano, amalfi coast, italy}

I think part of the reason it took me so long to post these is because, when I look at them, I NEED TO GO BACK TO ITALY NOWWWWW!! Yes, I send need. 🙂  Italy was such a magical trip and one of the most amazing vacations I’ve ever taken. We were able to visit some beautiful areas of Italy, but I know I’ve only scratched the surface. I hope to visit again soon to see much, much more. My visit wouldn’t have been possible with this wonderful family. You saw their farewell photos on my blog last year, so click that little link to read all the mushy things I said about this sweet family. 🙂

I wouldn’t say this was the most ideal day for a family photo session being that it was an Italian holiday and juuuuust a bit crowded in Positano. HOWEVER, we got some great photos, ate some really yummy food (of course, all food in Italy is delicious!) and had a lovely day spent on the Amalfi Coast.

Dear Italy (and the Burketts),

I’ll be back very soon!!!

XOXO,
Auntie Uncle Megan

Matzson in deep thought about how much he wants Uncle Megan to stay in Italy…

The story behind the photo below… I was taking photos of just Lindsey and the rest of the family was behind us. A couple locals wanted to take a photo with Maielle because she’s just the cutest thing ever. Well, Maielle kind of freaked out and ran towards Lindsey. Stranger Danger (!) photo below… 🙂

Italy Engagement Session {Alberobello, Italy}

It’s amazing what can happen through the power of Twitter. About a year ago, I tweeted that I was heading to Italy in the Spring and just threw it out there that I’d be available to shoot a wedding or portrait session while visiting. Wouldn’t you know, just a day later, Anna (wedding planner from Italy) responded to my tweet and that’s where it all began! After 8 months of emails back and forth coordinating an engagement session, we finally met up on a warm Tuesday afternoon in Bari, Italy. None of this would have been possible without Anna and I am so grateful for the opportunity! More importantly, I’m thankful for a new friendship and connection across the world!

Anna chose the area of Alberobello for our session because of its unique village area and trulli houses. She also found Giada & Alberto for us to spend the afternoon with and documenting their love amongst the trulli houses. It was a day I’ll never forget and hope to return one day soon!

This session was also featured on Engaged & Inspired recently, as well!
