Crystal + Rod = Married! {El Cajon, CA}

As mentioned in their sneak peek, Crystal & Rod’s wedding was the perfect way to end 2012! I apologize in advance for a very LONG post, but I just couldn’t help it. With two extremely creative, talented and in love people, you can’t help but share all of the personal touches added to their “winter wonderland” wedding day that was totally and completely “them”. I’m pretty sure I had a smile on my face the entire day because I felt like I was part of the family. I shot Ashley’s wedding (Crystal’s sister) a few years ago, so it was easy to jump in and reconnect with everyone again. The family not only trusts me enough to shoot two daughters weddings, but also enough to drive the bride & her car to the wedding site at the last minute…that’s a first for me! 🙂 I’ll keep this short since there are SO many photos, but Crystal & Rod…THANK YOU!  Thank you for allowing me to share in such an amazing day! You two are the best clients (now friends) I could have asked for and wish you the very best!! XOXO

Photographer’s note: nearly ALL the details you see in these photos were created by the bride, groom, family & friends. Too many to mention, but just know they all worked so hard to bring this day together!

A big thanks to Meghan Fien for being my 2nd photographer & Laura Mummery for helping out with the photo booth!

The shoes on the left were painted by the groom on their 2-year dating anniversary…and worn by Crystal at the reception.

The golden light after the wedding was UN-real! So beautiful!

Megan + Nate = Engaged! {Del Mar, CA}

Megan & Nate made my job so easy. Their chemistry is evident and their love is easy. We spent some time downtown SD and also Del Mar. I loved getting to know these two and wish them the very best with their summer wedding and future together!! And even Ricky Bobby made an appearance! 🙂 Enjoy!

Alycia + Andy = Engaged! {Portland, Oregon}

I first met Alycia at Shane & Joey’s wedding weekend in Seattle this past summer. You see, Shane & Alycia are now soon-to-be sisters-in-law because Shane is Andy’s brother! Got it? 🙂 Good. So…let’s get to the fun stuff. Alycia and I had talked about her options for photography if they decided to have a winter wedding in the Pacific Northwest. Assuming the weather could have been pretty gloomy in February, I gave her ideas like cute rain boots, umbrellas, etc. All of which would have been super festive, but we decided to use those ideas for the engagement session instead. Alycia & Andy have decided on a summer wedding in Lake Tahoe, which I couldn’t be more excited for! We also got the best of both worlds when we scheduled their engagement session in Portland, which is where they live and wouldn’t you know, it didn’t even rain on us. We started in their neighborhood in Southeast Portland, then went towards Downtown Portland and the waterfront. Our final destination was a fun one. Alycia went to high school with the guys who own Base Camp Brewing Company, so we decided to check it out and they even let us up on the roof! Thank you Andy & Alycia for such a fun day…I’ll never forget those fried pig ears!!

I think you all know by now that I was born and raised in Oregon and LOVE visiting whenever I get the chance. And being able to combine a trip home with a fun session like this? It couldn’t make me happier and I hope to shoot more in the Northwest very soon! xoxo

Now the good stuff…

Leroy got to join us for a bit too. This is his model pose. 🙂

Up on the roof!

He’s a Husky, she’s a Duck…and they still love each other! I know why Alycia and I get along so well. (Go Ducks!) 🙂

If you’re ever in Portland, definitely go check out Base Camp Brewing.
